Mesa Public Schools, Arizona’s largest district, implemented SPIRE and SPIRE Foundations: Sounds Sensible to support special education students. The programs’ structured, research-based approach led to significant reading gains. Many students advanced multiple levels or exited intervention entirely within a year.
