SPIRE UP is a blended print and digital intervention program designed for striving readers in grades 2–8. Grounded in Structured Literacy and the science of reading, it offers explicit, systematic, cumulative, and multisensory instruction through both physical and digital resources.

SPIRE UP is ideal for students who need targeted support in decoding and word recognition, especially those who have not yet crossed the “decoding threshold.”

Each lesson follows a clear, consistent framework to build skills step by step. Instruction includes:
- Direct Instruction (15 minutes of teacher-led introduction)
- Guided Practice (15 minutes of teacher-led practice to reinforce skills)
- Independent Practice (15 minutes of online skills practice)

SPIRE Up covers 64 target concepts and includes 192 lessons. Pacing is flexible—instructional blocks stack into 15-45-minute sessions, 3-5 times per week. This structure allows educators to adapt implementation to student needs and instructional settings.

The program includes a Teacher’s Guide (print and digital), Student Books, letter and word cards, magnetic letter tiles, letter tile trays and boards, and access to EPS Connect: a digital platform for lesson resources, independent practice, and data dashboards.

Teachers can leverage real-time data from EPS Connect to adjust pacing, group students effectively, and provide scaffolds or reteaching as needed.

Yes! SPIRE UP offers scaffolds for decoding and spelling difficulties and supports multilingual learners through contrastive analysis, cognates, visual aids, and collaborative opportunities. It can also be tailored to meet IEP requirements.
