Semantics is the ultimate goal of reading, and this webinar defines the cognitive skills necessary to achieve this goal. Semantics is a term that incorporates more than just a simple understanding of text. Background knowledge, vocabulary, and fluency are all important components of semantics, and each of them is explored in this presentation. You will review the basic research-based comprehension strategies and activities that connect to these strategies are demonstrated to provide you with practical ways to apply the insights you will learn from this webinar.

How to Watch: 

1. Click “Watch Now →"
2. In the new window, click the "Register" button
3. Complete the registration form:
   • Type (do not copy/paste) the Professional Learning Access Code: KLU7TN7L
   • Enter your email address
   • “Select School” and “select class” will auto-populate
   • Click "Next"
4. Review your information and click "Submit"
5. Click "OK" to generate the Welcome Email
6. Check your email (including SPAM folder) for the Welcome Email containing your temporary password. Click the "Log in" link in the email
7. Select "Login Directly"
8. Enter your credentials and create a new password (be sure to save it)
9. Accept the Terms of Use
10. You're ready to start learning!
