EPS Learning, a leading provider of PreK–12 literacy solutions, announced that Reading Assistant has been approved by the Iowa Department of Education as a K–5 universal screening assessment. The approval enables Iowa schools to use Reading Assistant to support the state's Early Literacy Implementation requirements as a universal screener, dyslexia risk screener, and benchmark assessment administered at least three times per year. Through a new two-year contract extension, Iowa K–5 schools can access Reading Assistant at no cost—providing educators with both an approved universal screener and high-quality literacy practice to support students throughout the school year.
In addition to supporting universal screening, Reading Assistant provides students with unlimited opportunities for individualized reading practice. Time spent using Reading Assistant does not count toward Iowa’s 60-minute daily limit on digital instruction, allowing schools to provide additional reading practice without reducing time available for other digital learning.
